Part 5 defence stand cable
Applications:
Def
Stan wires are extensively used by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in
applications requiring high-density wiring within instruments and to
connect electronic equipment. These flexible multi-core cables are used
in aircraft, process control systems, computers, data processors,
military vehicles and military equipment. As a high-grade,
high-specification, compact cable, this range can also be used outside
of the Defence industry.
Both
Def Stan Part 4 and Part 5 cables have a Tinned Copper Wire Braid
(TCWB) screening, providing protection against outside electrical
interference. Part 4 cables are screened sub-miniature multi-core
cables; Part 5 cables are special purpose small multi-core cables. Def
Stan Part 6 cables are unscreened flexible equipment wires.
Defence
standard cables have their origin in military applications but many
have now crossed into industrial enviroments & applications. They
cover a huge range of constructions and material compouds however we
list the most common ones below.
